Join us, Jack Flash Photography and the Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury on their annual Chipping Sodbury Classic Run which will take place for the 19th time in 2014. As in previous years all Rotary profits will be put towards helping national and local groups, individuals and charities.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 29th June and will be just over 80 miles long, starting as usual in Chipping Sodbury’s Broad Street, which is expected to be closed to all other traffic. Signing on will be at the Country Property Agents in Broad Street. Breakfasts will be available at the Squire Inn, Broad Street (by kind permission of the Landlord) with proceeds going to the R.N.L.I.
For 2014 they have organised a stunning route mostly in Gloucestershire and finishing in the Severn Valley. The tea, cake and coffee stop at about half distance will be near Cirencester with the final venue being Old Down Manor, South Gloucestershire, where they will serve an excellent pre-ordered ploughman’s lunch as well as providing a ‘pay’ bar. They will again have a large marquee for those who have pre-ordered the lunch with parking close by.
The event is open to pre-1989 cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles. The number of entrants is limited to prevent bunching on the route and to facilitate parking both in the Street before the run and at the coffee stop so definitely worth registering early. Entry costs have been maintained at £27.00 per car and £14.00 per motorcycle. To give you a flavour below is the video we produced on last year’s event:
South West motorsport and event photographer Jack Flash Photography will be taking photos en-route and an award will be given to the entrants judged most appropriately dressed for the period of their vehicle.
