The Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury invites you to enter the Chipping Sodbury Classic Run, a regular major fund raising event. Last year in 2012 the event put £6,250 into their charity account, helping to continue support of both national and local groups, individuals and charities.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 30th June and will be just over 80 miles long, starting as usual in Chipping Sodbury’s Broad Street, which is expected to be closed to all other traffic. Signing on will be at the Country Property Agents in Broad Street. Breakfasts will be available at the Squire Inn, Broad Street (by kind permission of the Landlord) – with proceeds going to the R.N.L.I.
For 2013 cars will follow a picturesque route mainly in Gloucestershire using roads on both sides of the Severn Valley. A coffee stop at about half distance will be in Newent with the final venue being Old Down Manor, South Gloucestershire, where entrants can enjoy a pre-ordered ploughman’s lunch as well as a ‘pay’ bar (soft drinks only – obviously). There will also be a large marquee erected for the lunch, with parking close by.
The event is open to pre-1986 cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles (W.H.Y). The number of entrants will be limited to prevent bunching on the route and to facilitate parking both in the Street before the run and at the coffee stop – so the only advice is to register early with entry remaining remarkable values at only £27.00 per car and £14.00 for a motorcycle.
A photograph of each entrant taken during the event will be available at the finish and an award will be given to the entrants judged most appropriately dressed for the period of their vehicles. Classic Cars Driven will be attending and filming the event and look forwards to seeing you there for a catch-up and a chat.
Closing date for entries is 31st May 2013, which ensures inclusion within the event programme. The online form below links directly to the Rotary Club who will eMail you back electronic copies of the event regulations by return:
